Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet Raises Over $2 Mln In Crowdsale, Integrates Glidera

Bitcoin wallet provider Mycelium has announced the integration of Glidera, a fiat currency payment service, which will enable its United States and Canada users to purchase bitcoin with traditional currencies.

Glidera provides individuals with a safe and easy way to obtain Bitcoin while using the Bitcoin wallet of their choice. Using the Glidera API, wallet developers can allow users to buy/sell bitcoin from within their application. Bitcoin Magazine noted that Glidera never takes custody of a customer's funds, while it manages compliance, payment fraud management and liquidity challenges.

“We’re excited to join forces with the Mycelium team and bring this new service to Mycelium users,” Dave Ripley, CEO of Glidera, told Bitcoin Magazine. “Mycelium offers one of the most secure and easy-to-use wallets on the market, and the addition of Glidera will further improve the experience for new and existing users.”

The announcement comes amid the recent closure of Mycelium’s crowdsale round that began on 1st May. The Merkle reported that through the Mycelium Wallet Project crowdsale, investors would be able to gain 5% of the company in non-dilutable Stock Appreciation Rights (SARs) via the purchase of colored coin tokens. The online page states that a total of 5,137.094 BTC (over $2 million at current exchange rate) has been raised.

“Like stocks,” Mycelium community manager Dmitry “Rassah” Murashchik told Bitcoin Magazine, “that grant you ownership of a company’s assets, and that the company can buy back from you in exchange for company cash you technically own, SARs grant you rights to a company's assets, but you can cash out on your own.”

Last month, Mycelium announced a new wallet with support for multiple currencies, digital assets, platforms and other features which will greatly simplify the use of blockchain assets. The company will soon integrate various API integrations for developers and business representatives, Bitcoin Magazine reported.
